I am a third year History of Art undergraduate at Leeds University- those are the basic facts.
I have always had a passionate love for the creative arts; the expansive worlds of art, journalism, fashion, interior design, architecture, product design and many more have remained areas of strong interest for me since I started my first shoe collection – SKAG – (a clever anagram of all my initials – S. G. K. A.) when I was about 8 years old. When I dream of opening up my own shop or restaurant today I still feel stumped to think of anything more apt than SKAG – it surely is the perfect name for any business venture… catchy… perhaps I should copy write it.
In writing this blog I aim to get my creative juices flowing and to challenge myself to think about something other than the looming, flashing, screaming ‘D’ for deadline sign that hovers over my every move, reminding me that I have a short novel to write amounting to the cool success or failure of my degree… sure… It’s OK.
It is early days but I intend to write about all different areas, some postings may just be meandering ramblings from my inner most thoughts, some posts may just be a link to an intelligently designed toothbrush, some may be rants, some may be rave reviews but I aim to ultimately ‘mix it up’.
Otherwise, all you need to know about me (if by some miracle you are reading this and you are not a family member or doting friend), I am a 21 year old young woman (I think I have successfully made the transition from girl to womanhood now, although it feels odd making such a statement) who really just loves the simple things in life: great food (mediocre wine will do), my fabulous friends, traveling, my family, music and last but not least – innovative design.
